    Sorry to hear about the Tonsils Lisa – ow! Ice cream is supposed to be good

    Thanks for this collection. It struck a bit of a chord with me because in my early career I read a lot of books by the people you have quoted. The power of the subconscious, as it relates to these sayings, is huge and it is perhaps sad that it is not really part of mainstream thinking.

    During a 2 year MBA I did, full time, 20 odd years ago, I thought up an expression that related to the pressure cooker nature of the course – work load was intense. “There is no reward so sweet, as that which is hard earnt”
    Another saying I thought up which is a bit more general in nature, was initiated by the stodgy mentalities of some of the bureaucrats I had to deal with in business. “Spontaneity is of the heart;
    by-passing reason and therefore fear”.

    Cheers and get well soon Mike FD

      Glad you find them inspirational. It’s no coincedence that so many of the success quotes deal with failure. It’s a good reminder that success comes from failure. Kind of a weird way to think about things, but so true. Lisa

    Great site, very informative. These quotes are fantastic; I am particularly fond of this George Burns gem:
    “I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate.”
